There are four room parents per classroom, and the sign up occurs at the start of the school year. The primary responsibility of the room parents is to plan three class parties, which include Halloween, Valentine’s Day, and End of the Year. They also purchase holiday and end of the year gifts for the classroom teacher as well as maintain classroom communication. Room parents also carry out the Teacher Appreciation Committee’s tasks for each classroom teacher to show our teachers how much we appreciate what they do for our children! They collect $20 from each family at the start of the year to fund the parties and teacher gifts.
