SERVICE COMMITTEES
The PTO services a number of committees throughout the school year, with the goal of bringing our kids and parents together in service to our school and community. Thanks to these committees and to our generous families, Roosevelt is able to see meaningful improvements each year.
If you’d like to get involved in a service committee, explore our many offerings here.
ALL-ABILITIES
The All-Abilities Committee supports all kids with events and awareness! They coordinate with speakers on different topics that will support the parents of kids with all-abilities. This committee oversees a dedicated quiet room in the building during special events, and makes sure all kids are able to participate in the activities that are planned.
GREEN TEAM AND GARDEN COMMITTEE
The Roosevelt Green Team and Garden Committee strive to cultivate appreciation and understanding for Earth-friendly practices inside and outside the school walls in alignment with D64 and community plans and standards. One thing Green Team does is coordinate volunteers during school hours to help students sort trash, recycling, and compostables. The Garden Committee plans and cares for the outside gardens and grounds. We hope to create a unified approach to sustainable practices in Roosevelt and the District. INSTITUTE DAY/ TEACHERS APPRECIATION
During curriculum nights, institute days, and during teacher appreciation week, this committee arranges catering and other events to impart to our teachers how valued they are.
KINDNESS COMMITTEE
We arrange an Uncle Pete’s Ministry lunch drop-off day, promote random acts of kindness around the school, and help the students participate in National Kindness Week.
GIRLS ON THE RUN (GOTR)
Coached by parents, this program for girls in grades 3-5 culminates in a 5K race in May.
YEARBOOK
